Midweek round up - 24/11/2017
In the Brooks Mileson Memorial League Cup, Whitley Bay progressed to the next round on Tuesday after a 2-1 win over Sunderland RCA. Liam Brooks and Tom Potter put Whitley Bay ahead at half time. Stephen Callan scored RCA's consolation goal on 58 minutes. In the Ebac Northern League Division One, Ashington defeated Billingham Synthonia 2-0 with a goal in each half through Tom Gavin (own goal) and Dale Pearson. Corey Nicholson scored a late goal to win the three points for Ryhope CW in their 2-1 win against Newcastle Benfield. Nathan Skidmore put the home side again on 18 minutes but Paul Brayson levelled the score on 69 minutes. Washington defeated Team Northumbria 3-1 with goals by Lamin Cham and Vincent Gash (2). Andrei-Vasile Ardelean scored the away side's consolation goal. In the Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup, Chester-Le-Street defeated Easington Colliery 3-1. The home side lead 3-0 until the final minute with goals by Andrew Clarkson (2) and Daniel McGuire. Robbie Thompson replied for the away side. On Wednesday only one game survived the weather. Ryton and Crawcrook Albion defeated Billingham Town 1-0 in the Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup. The goal coming from Callum Turnbull (penalty) in the 90th minute.
