Midweek round up - 15/12/2017
On Tuesday, the North Riding Senior Cup 1st Round tie between Marske United and Scarborough Athletic finally went ahead after a couple of postponements due to the weather. The game was switched to Scarborough and the home side went through with a 2-0 win. Both goals coming in the second half from Max Wright and Michael Coulson. In the Ebac Northern League Division One, Morpeth won 5-3 at Consett with goals by Daniel Carson, Liam Henderson (2), Joe Walton and Chris Reid. The home side scorers were Michael Sweet (2) and Michael Mackay. Billingham Synthonia are still rooted at the bottom of the table after a 3-2 defeat at Newcastle Benfield on Thursday. Paul Brayson and Richard Slaughter give Benfield a two goal advantage, but Synners levelled the score through Lewis Wood and Jordan Jewson. Luke Carr scored the winning goal with twelve minutes remaining. Tony Stephenson scored the winning goal for Ashington on 90 minutes in their 3-2 win over Bishop Auckland on Friday. Earlier in the game, Luke Salmon and Damien Stevens had given the Colliers a two goal advantage at half time. Priestley Griffiths and Thomas McAloon pulled the two goals back with seven minutes remaining before Stephenson struck.
